Eduardo Rivera, PhD

Originally from Marbella, where this University Centre has been established, Dr Eduardo Rivera is a seasoned software engineer with a specialisation in modelling. His academic journey includes a PhD in Computer Science from the Universidad de Málaga, accompanied by Master’s degrees in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, as well as Psychological Interventions with DBM from the University of Valencia.
Dr Eduardo Rivera initiated his research on Model Driven Engineering at the University of Málaga, where he earned his PhD. He boasts extensive experience in working with various modelling languages and tools across diverse domains. His contributions to the realms of formal and modelling languages are evident through collaborations with multiple universities, leading to journal and conference papers, invited talks, and participation in research projects. Additionally, he enriched his expertise during a visiting stint at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Further specialising in Business Process Modelling, Dr Eduardo Rivera lent his expertise to two companies in Spain and Panama. Here, he analysed, designed, and implemented business process models for the TV industry and the banking sector. His roles also encompassed web development, and he took charge of BPM training.
Passionate about teaching, Dr Eduardo Rivera pursued studies in Life Coaching and Developmental Behavioural Modelling, aiming to enhance the teaching and learning experience and extract the best from his students.
Since 2016, Dr Eduardo Rivera has been an integral part of this university’s teaching faculty, bringing his wealth of knowledge and industry experience to the classroom.
