MIUC Students Embark on Educational Trip to University of West London

On 15 April 2025, a group of Marbella International University Centre (MIUC) students from the International Business and International Relations programmes had the unique opportunity to visit the University of West London (UWL) for an enriching educational trip. The visit provided students with an in-depth look at UWL’s academic offerings, campus facilities, and student life, fostering a deeper understanding of international academic partnerships and global student experiences.
The day began with a warm welcome at UWL’s St Mary’s Road (SMR) campus, where the students were greeted and registered before embarking on a campus tour. Students explored key areas of the SMR campus, including the library, where they were introduced to essential digital library services, enhancing their research and academic capabilities.
The visit continued with a lively discussion with the UWL Student Union President, who shared insights into student governance and the vibrant student life at UWL. The students also had the opportunity to meet with course representatives from various departments, including the School of Health and Social Sciences (SHSS) and the College of Leadership and Business Studies (CLBS), further enhancing their understanding of the academic and extracurricular opportunities available at UWL.
Afterwards, the group enjoyed a well-deserved pizza lunch at Freddie’s Bar, where they were joined by UWL staff from the International Office and Global Partnerships. This informal gathering allowed students to network with key UWL staff and discuss potential academic collaborations between MIUC and UWL.
In the afternoon, the students travelled to UWL’s Paragon House campus, where they toured the facilities and met with the academic teams. The International Business students engaged with the Global Partnership Development team, while the International Relations students had a session with the faculty, discussing course content and opportunities.
The day concluded with a return to St Mary’s Road campus, where the MIUC students reflected on their experiences, which enhanced their academic perspectives and strengthened the MIUC-UWL partnership.

A particularly exciting highlight of the day was a hands-on experience in UWL’s state-of-the-art flight simulation facilities, where students got the chance to experience a Boeing 737 flight simulation. This immersive session gave students a unique glimpse into the aviation industry, combining academic learning with practical, real-world application in the fields of aviation and tourism.
