Rotary Training Event at MIUC

On 28 May 2026, a Rotary Training Event took place at MIUC in Marbella.

Twenty-five Rotarians from various Rotary clubs across the Costa del Sol gathered for this special event, organised by the current President of Rotary Club Marbella International, Mrs Fides Ostbye, together with Rotary District 2203.

The training session explored Rotary’s role as the world’s oldest international organisation dedicated to community service, established in 1905. The programme covered the history of Rotary, its organisational structure, fields of activity, and the organisation’s strong culture of friendship, fellowship, and solidarity in both local and international communities.

The session was delivered by the District Training Officer, Belén Sánchez from Rotary Club Málaga, together with Ali Bakhshandeh, Governor’s Assistant for Málaga Province from Rotary Club Marbella International.

MIUC Course Leader Dr Juho Ahava welcomed the participants and highlighted the MIUC’s commitment to lifelong learning, executive education, and creating meaningful impact within the wider community. He emphasised the importance of education in shaping responsible global citizens who can contribute positively to the world around them and make a real difference in society.

The choice of MIUC as the venue, together with MIUC’s excellent facilities and international learning environment, contributed greatly to the success of the event.
