Empowering Global Leaders: A Recap of the MIUC Model United Nations

The halls of Marbella International University Centre recently transformed into a vibrant hub of international diplomacy, heated debate, and strategic negotiation. Students from diverse backgrounds stepped out of their daily academic routines and into the shoes of global ambassadors for the latest MIUC Model United Nations (MUN) conference.

The Spirit of Diplomacy

The event was an exercise in empathy and perspective. Delegates were tasked with representing the interests of their assigned nations – sometimes defending viewpoints that differed significantly from their own. This challenge sits at the heart of the MUN experience: finding common ground in a world of conflicting interests.

Key Highlights from the Committee Floors

The conference saw intense activity across several committees, where delegates tackled some of the most pressing issues of 2026:

The first day centered on Arctic Security, examining geopolitical competition, environmental concerns, and emerging strategic interests, while the second day addressed the Energy Crisis in the Middle East, challenging delegates to navigate the balance between regional stability and global energy needs.
The conference featured a keynote address by Krishanti Dharmaraj, CEO and Founder of the Human Dignity Index, who highlighted the role of ethical leadership and human‑centered decision‑making in diplomacy.
Outstanding delegate performance was recognized through several awards. Best Delegate honors were awarded to Fabio D’Alma (United States of America) as First Best Delegate and Mason Ackerman (Islamic Republic of Iran) as Second Best Delegate.
Additional awards included Best Strategy for Gianluca Ravelli (Russian Federation), Most Articulate Delegate for Ana Stratan (Republic of Finland), and Best Resolution for Ameer Al‑Sarraf (People’s Republic of China), reflecting the strong level of preparation, diplomatic skill, and collaborative engagement demonstrated throughout the conference.
