MIUC Hosts a Landmark Conference on Tax Innovation and AI in Spain and Argentina
Marbella International University Centre (MIUC) hosted the International Training Programme “Strengthening Effectiveness, AI, and Tax Efficiency in a Challenging Global Context” on September 25–26, 2025. The event was held in collaboration with the University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF, Argentina), the Buenos Aires Government Office for Public Revenue, and the Centre for Subnational Tax Administrations (CeATS). A large group of tax officials from Argentina participated in the conference.
With a focus on artificial intelligence, regulatory integrity, and fiscal innovation, the conference welcomed professionals from ministries of finance, tax administrations, and regulatory bodies. Opening remarks were delivered by the MIUC Dean Dr Beata Fröhlich, Remedios Bocanegra (Representative of the Marbella Townhall), Prof Gabriel Cabrera (UNTREF), Prof Germán Krivocapich (President, CeATS), and Horacio Hugo Russo (General Secretary UNTREF).
The conference’s key sessions addressed innovative approaches to taxation from various perspectives. The session “Impairment Testing and Its Fiscal Implications” was presented by MIUC lecturer Dr Fernando Ramírez de Verger. During his session, he introduced several international case studies and comparative legal frameworks. Consultant and data analyst Fernando Moreno delivered a session on “AI in Tax Administration.” Moreno highlighted how AI tools enhance efficiency, traceability, and oversight. Professor Debora Bursztyn’s lecture “Legal Philosophy and Tax Law” offered a historical and conceptual exploration of legislative legitimacy and the theory of representation. Professor Krivocapich delivered the session “Comparative Constitutional Tax Law,” which explored fiscal federalism and local taxation in Spain and Argentina.
As part of the event, MIUC signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Centro de Administraciones Tributarias Subnacionales (CeATS), the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero (UNTREF), and the Administración Gubernamental de Ingresos Públicos (AGIP), aimed at fostering future collaboration and advancing the ongoing training of professionals in the fields of tax administration, technology, and public finance.
The programme concluded with a participant forum and the presentation of certificates awarded by the University of West London, MIUC’s exclusive academic partner and awarding body. The Embassy of Argentina in Spain congratulated the participants and MIUC for the success of the initiative. Attendees also completed a survey in which they praised the seamless quality of the speakers, the impeccable organisation of the event, and the safety and beauty of the MIUC campus.
This initiative reaffirmed MIUC’s role as a hub for advanced professional training and its commitment to bridging the worlds of technology, law, and finance in the public sector.
