MIUC Welcomes Its New Students – Orientation Day 2019

On the 27th of September, MIUC was thrilled to welcome our new students at our annual Orientation Day.

Thank you to those of you who attended, and to our amazing staff and faculty for hosting such a wonderful event. We had a fantastic time, and we hope you did too; we are so excited to welcome you all to the MIUC family.

It was a day full of speeches, fun ice-breaker games, and getting to know each other. Beata Froehlich, MIUC’s Dean, began the day’s events with a speech that truly inspired us all.

“Today is your first day at MIUC, which is also one of the most remarkable times in your life. University presents a fascinating life ahead. Some of you may feel very excited while some of you may feel overwhelmed. But I promise you one thing: we will always do our best to challenge you to participate fully in your own personal intellectual journey and in the university’s mission to create new knowledge and a better understanding of our world. Set your goals high and never underestimate your capabilities.”

Beata’s address was followed by speeches from a number of our colleagues here at MIUC, who gave the students the essential information they need to thrive on campus. Among the speakers was our Chief Academic Officer, Mirjana Stefanovic, our Course Leader Dr Ming-Jin Jiang, our student counsellor Eva Berkovic, Cristina Gonzalez from the Internships Department, our Sports Coach Jenisej Krnjaic, and last but not least, our Admissions Director Ignacio Lozano.

After speeches, we made our way down to the “Half Moon” area, where all of our new students had the opportunity to get to know one another with a few fun “ice-breaker” games, facilitated MIUC’s wonderful Life Coach, Ana Cantle. It was wonderful to see MIUC come alive again after the summer holidays, as the chatter and laughter of new students rang out across campus.

Following the usual paperwork administration, we took the students who had not seen MIUC before on a tour of our beautiful campus. Our new students are so excited to begin a new chapter of their lives here at MIUC, and we are sure that the whole campus will welcome them with open arms.

We would like to congratulate our new students for becoming a part of the MIUC community; you have worked so hard to get to where you are today. Remember that we are always here for you, whenever you need anything, you just need to let us know. We are so excited to watch you thrive and flourish at MIUC, and we have no doubt that you will all make us incredibly proud.

To end off with some closing words from our Dean’s speech; “pursue your MIUC journey with enthusiasm, finding what engages and excites you. When you do something, stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your objectives.”
