MIUC explored the future of AI in Education at Business Innovation Marbella 2024

Marbella International University Centre has adopted a traffic light system as a guideline for what is acceptable, rather than banning AI outright. After all, declaring divorce illegal does not save marriages. Similarly, we are focused on fostering the responsible adoption of AI, including addressing its environmental impact.
When ChatGPT emerged, it was initially met with panic over fears that students would cheat. This marked one of the rare moments when technology and education spilled over into mainstream press. While we are actively working on AI detection, we do not see ourselves as “cheater chasers.”
We do not fear AI. Instead, we embrace its potential to automate the right tasks, freeing staff time for creativity and human interaction. Our focus is on teaching students what AI cannot do, which we summarise as the three Cs: Curiosity, Critical Thinking, and Creativity.
