Below you will be able to find the dates and the location where all these amazing activities are taking place.

Please note some are for new students while others are for all students.


Please notice that Tuesday 26th September is for NEW STUDENTS. 

Please notice that Wednesday 27th September  - Friday 29th of September are for ALL STUDENTS.

 

Tuesday - 26th of September - For New Students

Time: 10-10.30 
Activity:
Welcome coffee
Description: Gathering of the new students on campus. Students that still need steps to complete their visa process will be identified and have information on next steps.

Time: 10.30-11.30 
Activity:
Welcome session
Description: Welcome word of the Dean, Dr. Beata Froehlich to our new students, in this session we clarify who is who in the university including a campus tour

Activity:
Tutor program welcome
Description: Understanding who is your tutor and the objectives/ contacts of the tutors. The students will only meet with the tutors on the following day

Activity:
Getting around
Description: For the new students, important information is given on how to get around with public transport but also where to go, call in case of emergencies (medical, dental, etc)

Ice breaker games
Description: Allow new students to get familiar with each other and 'break the ice' in to create a bonding for the following days/weeks

Wednesday - 27th of September - For All Students

Welcome back
Description: Gathering of the returning students and new students on campus.
Welcome speech by Professor Peter John CBE, Vice-Chancellor and President of UWL followed by the speech of our dean, Dr. Beata Froehlich

Description: Blackboard introduction - importance of email/announcement

Activity: Calendar/Schedule/ courses / Enrolment form
Description: Information on the new calendar and schedule, courses where to find MSG etc
no optional courses / how to fill in enrolment form

Activity: Student activities on campus
Description: Student clubs are presented, as well as the activities taking place on campus (wednesdays/ Fridays). Experience stories are shared

Activity: 'House rules' and emergency procedures on campus
Description: Basic campus house rules are explained, including the procedure in case of emergency or fire

Description: Education is your stepstone to your career, get a good start and enhance your employability with our career service department and opportunities.

Description: This external company will come to present an exciting event that will create potential internship and network opportunities. NOT TO BE MISSED!

Thursday - 28th of September - For All Students

Meet your tutor
Description: All the new students will be able to meet up for a short session with their tutors

Academic regulations
Description: The dean and course leader will present you in an interactive way the basic regulations and some changes in the regulations that are interesting for the new and returning students. Enhancement weeks and seminars explained

Student union presentation and roles
Description: The student union will present themselves and explain their roles. How can you be part of the student union?

Description: Understanding how the library works, to search for books, ebooks and meeting the librarian, Harvard referencing style basics

Description: For Business and Marketing students only!  Presentation of the Dean of The Claude Littner Business School of UWL

Student welfare and wellbeing
Description: Our welfare department promoting and providing a safe and supportive environment for all students. In this sessions more information will be delivered regarding the welfare and wellbeing program and resources including the 'Safe space Club'

Activity:
Team building game /lunch activity
Description: Integration and get to know eachother mix and mingle in a funny way during lunch offered by MIUC
