It makes us immensely proud when our students use their knowledge and ambition for good. Our International Relations and Politic Level 5 student Ada Carracedo Rodriguez is a shining example of that.
Here below in her own words Ada describes her experience working for a non-profit organisation
My experience in volunteering was enriching and rewarding in many ways. For several weeks, I had the opportunity to work with a group of amazing people in a non-profit organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged children.
From day one, I was welcomed with open arms by a team of committed and dedicated volunteers from the NUR Association. Together, we work on various activities to help children in Er-rachidia, Morocco learn Spanish. It was inspiring to see how a group of people with different skills and experiences came together to make a real difference in children’s lives.
One of the most rewarding parts of my experience was the opportunity to interact directly with children; I learned a lot about the importance of empathy and understanding in volunteer work. Hearing the life stories of the children and their families made me appreciate more the blessings I have in my own life.
In short, my experience in volunteering was a transformative experience that reminded me of the importance of giving and being part of a community that cares about others. Through this experience, I not only contributed to the well-being of others, but also grew as a person and acquired valuable skills. I plan to continue volunteering in the future, as I know that giving can have a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.
