Induction Week Wrap Up
Starting A New Semester in Marbella With An Exciting Blend of Educational and Immersive Cultural Experiences
Earlier this month, we welcomed new students, introducing them to our beautiful campus, our faculty, staff, and other students in a way only MIUC can: with engaging experiences and special events.
It is our approach to blending high quality higher education with rich cultural experiences in one of the most beautiful regions in the world – the Costa del Sol, with its growing tech center and sunny beaches.
On campus, our Student Board hosted Student Appreciation Day, a crash course in creative web design hosted by our popular expert Dr Eduardo Riviera, and an Academic Excellence gathering where new students learned about the support we offer, with presentations by Dr Vera Champagne and Dr Juho Ahava.
This spring, the adventure continues as we bring our students exciting and immersive learning experiences, to name a few:
The Financial Insight Academy Lecture Series – exploring AI, business & geopolitics;
The Mastering AI Practical Bootcamp – hands-on training to level up AI skills;
A lecture by Ian Sinclair on “Badminton, Conflict Resolution and the UN: Bridging Diplomacy Through Sports”;
A business visit to Marbella Up, a dynamic space where innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship thrive; and
A field trip to Córdoba
Our students have access to our ConnectED calendar, and can attend the activities they find most relevant and rewarding (some offering certificates which enhance our students’ CVs).
Students got to know their tutors, attended sessions on course expectations, and learned how to use essential tools like Blackboard. We covered important info on schedules, course enrollment, and even opportunities for a semester in London.
Newcomers received guidance on public transportation, emergency contacts, and visa procedures. Student clubs were introduced, and Peer Mentors were paired with those seeking extra support.
We also encouraged students to explore our career services—education is just the beginning. MIUC is known for successfully preparing students for their future career prospects.
Throughout the semester, we’ll be sharing information and insights about our ongoing extra-curricular activities, and opportunities to meet and learn from an impressive array of guest lecturers and thought leaders.
