The gastronomy of Spain is immensely rich and varied, just like the country itself. With a
wide variety of top-quality ingredients to choose from, old traditions and recipes combined
to create new quality concepts and an incredible level in cooking skills - it is no surprise that
Spain is at the top of culinary excellence in Europe.
Spanish cuisine is known for being delicious, healthy and full of flavour, so there are many
unique dishes available that will tempt your taste buds. Spain is well known for its
Mediterranean diet of fresh vegetables, salads, fish, rice dishes and the wide use of quality
extra virgin olive oil. Spanish study abroad experiences wouldn’t be complete without
diving into the local food, so if you are not yet familiar with Spanish cuisine, it is time to get
to know it. Going out for tapas is probably Spain’s most famous gastronomic and social
traditions.
“My name is Kailan and I come from the United Kingdom and I’m excited to tell you briefly about
what brought me here and my experiences so far being a foreign student abroad in Spain. Well,
first let’s get the obvious out the way… the weather is phenomenal! Expect crystal blue skies and
tropical sunny rays most days of the year, which as a British lad is paradise already ha-ha. From
previous holidays here and my current experience so far, Spain continues to embody a relaxed
vibe where you can go at your own pace to pursue the things you want to do. Collectively my
encounters with the food, people and culture have been vibrant and bountiful with
complimentary natural beauty settings wherever you are! Especially during the summer you’ll
see this place liven up in ways you wouldn’t even imagine. So, what are you waiting for?
